How do I Score Things?

0 (horrible)
1 (bad)
2 (not very good)
3 (average)
4 (very good)
5 (excellent)
6 (unbelievable)

Packaging - I like a clean, sophisticated packing. I don't like a lot of patterns or loud prints on the packaging of my products. Packaging also has to do with the functionality of the container. Is it an aersol, pump or spray? Does that work with the product?

Scent - I personally like scents that are light. I don't want to use three different strongly scented products on my hair and walk out of my bathroom smelling like the fragrance section of Dillards. I prefer things that have a distinct scent. Apple, vanilla, caramel, and rose are all popular and fine with me. Sometimes things just smell sweet, fruity, tropical or floral, and that is okay but not preferred. If it smells like aerosol, alcohol, or even worse gross, then it will be scored pretty low. I also score low if the scent is super strong.

Longevity - this just means how long something lasts. If a little goes a long way, or if I will be buying this every month. The longer the product will stretch the higher the score. If I have to use a ton then it will score lower.

Wear - How long something stays on your skin. For example I usually rate wear when reviewing eyeshadow. If it is still on after 5+ hours as vibrant as when I put it on it will get high score. If it only lasts a couple hours it will get a medium score and if it goes on dull it will get a low score.

Hydrating or Conditioning - This one is simple, does it hydrate WITHOUT making your hair or skin look or feel oily and greasy? If yes it's a high score, if no, it's low.

Hold - This is usually applied to hair styling products. To get a good score a product has to hold the style you give it without making the hair look or feel crunchy, shiny or plastic-like. I like a little work-ability in my products and no stiffness.

Texture - When you put this product on your hair is it easy to work with or does it clump, leave residue, or is it hard to disperse? I don't like products that aren't easy and fast to apply.

Volume - Once again self explanatory. Does it add height?

Variety - How many colors, scents or shades does this product come in?

Oil Control - Does this product reduce the look of shine or greasiness well?

Shine - Does it add shine without looking greasy or oily?

Effect - This is rating how well the product does what it is supposed to do. Does it add texture, does it create waves? If so it will rate high.

Weight - does this product feel heavy in your hair or light? I prefer products that feel weightless and natural. I don't like things to weigh down my hair.

Lasting Effect - How long does the effects of the product last? This is similar to wear but for styling products instead of makeup.

Heat Protection - Does this product actually protect your hair form heat? The other question is how much heat. If protects from a blow dryer and the sun then you'll get a 3-4 score, but if it protects from hot tools it usually gets a 5-6.

Color Extension - How well does this product protect and extend the life of your hair color.

Fall Out - Used for makeup products, this rating is about how much fall out (or excess powder that falls off your brush, compact or skin) the product gets. If there is a lot of fallout it will get a lower score.

Color True-ness - When you buy a red lipstick does it look like the same color on your lips? The closer to the tube shade the higher the score.

Ease of Application - I like easy to apply makeup. If it runs, has a ton of fall out, or if I have to put on a million layers it will get a low score.

Ease of Removal - for masques, this is about how easy it is to clean your face after using this product.

Finish - Does it make your face look oily or shiny? I prefer a clean matte or a slightly dewy look. But if a product makes me look like I just spent and hour at the gym? no thanks!

Priming Power - How well does this product actually boot the longevity of other products?
